Jewish newspaper, the Jerusalem Post, has included one of the founders of the Israeli American Council in its yearly list of the most influential Jews in the world. Adam Milstein was placed at number 39 in a list that included the top 50 influential Jews of the year. Mr. Milstein describes being featured in the list as a very humbling experience. He describes the recognition as being reflective of all the effort and hard work put in by the Israeli American Council and the Israeli American community as a whole.
Adam Milstein has his name featured alongside fellow Jewish businessmen such as Ron Lauder, Mathew Bronfman and Sheldon Adelson. While Milstein is not a billionaire or as big a donor as these Jewish businessman are, he is certainly making a big impact. His name of the Jerusalem Post's most influential Jews list proves that Adam Milstein has done a lot for the Jewish community.
Adam Milstein and his wife have a charitable foundation called the Adam and Gila Milstein Family Foundation. It supports dozens of Jewish and non-Jewish charities with the goal of strengthening the Jewish people and its homeland, the state of Israel. Mr. Milstein also works tirelessly on behalf of the Jewish people, by trying to foster cooperation between Jewish and non Jewish groups and people. He also supports cooperation between the United States and Israel in technology exchange, national security and trade.
Adam Milstein calls the United States his home now. He was originally born in Haifa, Israel to Jews who had immigrated from Latin America to Israel when the Jewish state was just established. Milstein grew up in Israel and completed mandatory military service. While serving in the army he was involved against offensives against the Egyptian Third Army Division during the Yom Kippur War of 1973.
After his mandatory army service was completed, Adam Milstein went to study business at the Technion in Israel. He worked for his family's construction firm for a time before he set out for the United States of America. He and his wife settled in Encino, California.
